The primary mission of our organization is as follows: • Promote gender equality and leadership roles for women lawyers, • Provide networking opportunities to and support group for women lawyers, • Lobby for reform to laws affecting gender issues, and • Promote friendship and comradery among its members.

Currently, our committee chair sits on the newly formed Six Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee and serves as a liaison between it and PFAWL. This year, while they were getting the committee established, our member mainly reported back to members of the various pro bono opportunities in the Sixth Judicial Circuit. My term ends on June 30, 2015. I am unsure what the incoming PFAWL president has in mind for next year as to providing free or reduced legal representation to the disadvantaged, but I do know that she is continuing PFAWL’s Pro Bono Committee.
