Final Report Access to Justice Study Committee State Bar of Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Access to Justice Study Committee is comprised of experienced lawyers and judges from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors who were appointed by the president of the State Bar of Wisconsin to oversee Wisconsin’s first comprehensive legal needs study of low-income residents. We have first-hand experience with access to justice issues from a variety of perspectives. We believe that equal justice under law is a fundamental building block of our society. Our goals were to: • identify low-income residents with unmet legal needs; • identify reasons why the needs are not being met; and • recognize what has been done but make recommendations on how to accomplish what remains to be done
