In August 2008, the Tennessee Supreme Court declared Access to Justice its numberone strategic priority. Later that year, the Court launched its Access to Justice campaign. On April 3, 2009, the Court created the Tennessee Access to Justice Commission and charged it with developing its first strategic plan within the first year and updating the plan every two years thereafter. This 2014 Plan details the progress made in implementing the goals of the Commission's 2012 Strategic Plan and proposes new objectives and benchmarks to address civil legal needs in the upcoming two years.
