The Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission today releases “Barriers to Access to Justice in Massachusetts: A Report, With Recommendations, to the Supreme Judicial Court.”

The Report relates what witnesses told the Commission during four public hearings convened by the Commission in 2006-2007 in Springfield, New Bedford, Lawrence and Boston. Based on the testimony, the Commission developed 45 recommendations for changes in the way that the legal system handles legal problems of low-income people. Among those recommendations:
