The practice of law has seen much  progress in the 21st century, but despite tremendous commitment from the Florida bench and bar the civil justice gap remains as wide as it has ever been in 2016. Among the disturbing numbers are these: Less than 15% of Florida residents having civil legal problems are able to obtain legal help. Insufficient funding for legal aid organizations means that only 20% of indigent Floridians receive legal counsel in civil cases.
